MORE ABOUT OUR PARTNER CHARITY

Saint Francis Hospice is an independent charity that provides outstanding care to over 4,000 people with a life-limiting illness each year. The hospice itself is located in Havering-atte- Bower but provides the majority of its care to the communities of Brentwood, Havering, Redbridge, West Essex, and Barking and Dagenham. Services are provided at the hospice and also to patients at home if requested.

Life-limiting illnesses are conditions that have no cure. However, with the right care and treatment, Saint Francis Hospice can help people live their lives to the fullest. They look after people with cancer, motor neurone disease, heart failure and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Saint Francis Hospice team are specialists in their field. They include doctors, nurses, social workers, counsellors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, complementary therapists and pastoral care staff. A dedicated family support and bereavement team ensure all members of the family are cared for at a difficult time.

The hospice needs to raise 73% of its running costs - approx. £7.5m - a year in voluntary income so that its services can be provided free of charge to our local community.

Marygreen Manor Hotel are proud to have supported Saint Francis for a number of years providing corporate donations, Auction & Raffle prizes, food and accommodation for celebrity and VIP’s who support the hospice events and in 2016 provided a summer cream tea afternoon at the hospice for all patients and day patients and their families which was a huge success.

Mike Allen the Corporate Partnerships Manager at Saint Francis says “ We are very proud to have Marygreen manor as one of our key corporate supporters, the management and staff are extremely committed to helping our local community and ensure vital services are provided when they are most at need. Every event we have held for the past 18months has included a valuable prize donated by the hotel for which we are very grateful and the time given by everyone at the hotel is appreciated by us all at the hospice”
